Hello Rebecca
Is it possible to set up custom domain email addresses? If it’s possible how do you do it? I understand it can’t be done through WP.
Many thanks.10th December 2014 at 11:52 am #992Dan MorrellKeymasterHi Carole. I hope you’re keeping well.
Are you wanting to have email addresses associated with your existing iChurch domain? If so, we’d just need to move you to a different hosting package (though I’d be inclined instead to recommend setting up web-based Gmail addresses instead, as you are then a) being looked after by email experts, rather than by web-hosting specialists who also offer email accounts, and b) totally web-based and not tied into any other package, so the email addresses can easily be passed on without any hassle at all). Changing your hosting package is easy enough to do, though it will cost you more for your annual hosting fee (I think it’s £10 more per year, but I’d need to check to be sure). If you want to do something along those lines, please just contact Rebecca.
Or are you asking about email addresses associated with a different, custom domain? In that case, you’d need to register the domain with someone who handles these things; there’s usually a cost involved (rates are significantly lower for .co.uk addresses than for .com ones), and then set up a hosting package which includes email. Our hosting providers can do this – if you’d like a conversation about what/how/how much etc, please just email Rebecca 🙂
